Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang Spring 2011

This season, we’ve been given shoes with all of the diamante embellishments, bright colours and blinged out heels a girl could ask for; Alexander Wang has decided to take things to a completely different place.

Stylistically, the collection is distinctively different from most of the other collections we’ve seen for the warmer months, with the glitzy golden straps seen in so many other collections replaced by beautiful woven straps in hues of darkest black and military olive.

Heeled boots with chunky heels and cut out detailing at the back of the heel came in earthy, natural tones, perfect for wear with this season’s earth tone chinos or the safari style dresses that we have been seeing so much of. Wedges and flats with criss-crossing straps that delicately entwine with one another other bore the same basic colour scheme; yet were detailed with the textures of reptilian skin and more woven heels, giving the shoes a really textured feel.

One of the standout pairs of shoes in the collection are the gorgeous chunky heels pictured above. They are effortlessly chic and sexy, yet have a hard edge that would toughen up even a frilly floral dress if you didn’t want to look too girly. Like the rest of the collection, they can be worn with anything you already have in the wardrobw; and would compliment any of this season’s trends.

The whole collection would work beautifully in any wardrobe; with goes-with-anything colours and an unfussy look, you could wear any pair for work, rest or play.

You can view the collection and buy online at http://www.alexanderwang.com/shop/shoe and prices start at around £450/$750 usd
