D & G

Dolce and Gabbana. Renowned for their beautiful men’s tailoring and their show stopping red carpet gowns, the design house’s footwear is often overlooked. We can’t be at fault for that, even the most dedicated heel lover gets distracted by a beautiful dress from time to time.

When a pair of D & G’s wedges appeared in our shop, I inwardly cursed my feet for being the wrong size, and then I realised that I hadn’t a look at the new collection either. The collection was strikingly different from our wedges. Whereas the wedges in the shop (clicky clicky, they could be yours!) are feminine and girly with their pink straps and stylish diamante buckles, sure to be worn with summer dresses, maxi skirts and jeans alike, for years and years to come; they’re perfect for the beach, for coffee with the girls or even a dinner date with your beau. The new collection, is a sharp turn into bolder patterns and darker colours. The monochromatic star heels are a personal favourite of mine, I know they would really pop out with a pair of skinny jeans and have the power to make any woman feel like a total rock star. The leopard print heels are wonderful too; the prolific wild cat print has a reputation for making us feel sexy, and it’s long life on the catwalk and the high street can’t be argued with.

The wedges in the shop (although I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re gone already as I type this) are a bargainous £225, and the new collection can be bought at http://www.luisaviaroma.com/index.aspx?#getData.aspx|CallType=ListOfProd&des=008&cat=&season=actual&gender=women&group=&subline=&fromLinkDesHtm=undefined&fromTrend=false&trend=&SortType=0 and prices start at a plastic melting £400.
