The past week has been one of the coldest ones so far in the UK. October’s arrived. From now on we have to wrap up a bit extra to keep our body heat, but quite frankly, I’m perfectly content. I love autumn! It is my favourite of the four seasons.
 

In October, the cold of the winter has not yet reached us and obvious changes are occurring all around us: The million colours of the leaves are very pleasing on the eyes. But what’s the best thing? Being able to easily order a hot chocolate with extra cream and marshmallow? And with no skin on show there shall be no tell-tale! The shorter days when the darkness starts arriving in the early afternoon? So What? There are still plenty of people around for you not to be alone, unlike the middle of the night, and the sky’s lit up of a coloured streetlamps, fairy lights… People walk hand in hand.
 

What I love is that feeling you get when you first, distraughtly, realise that your well-worn, adored mittens, woollen hats and boots – you name it! Are full of holes..
